We are a husband and wife team that counts ourselves very lucky to live in the beautiful Cotswolds, where we are inspired daily by our surroundings and the nature that lives around us. We have spent years tinkering in sheds and creating at kitchen tables always with a yearning to turn our passions and hobbies into a way of life.

 

It was on one sunny Sunday with steaming coffee in hand, that we sat watching our bird table, whiling away the morning chatting (daydreaming more like) about how we would love to build our own business. When a fluffy feathery lump landing amidst the birdfeed caught our eye, 'Blimey that's a Fat Chaffinch!'

That was it! Not long after with a huge leap of faith Fat Chaffinch was born.

Our aim is to create wonderful unique pieces that have captured our passions, inspirations, and a little of that Cotswold magic. 

Everything you will see here has been handcrafted using ethically and sustainably sourced materials. We want to be able to produce beautiful, practical art but not at the expense of the world around us. We strive to adhere to this as much as possible.

Our Pieces are individually made and all go on their own journey, whispering stories of their previous lives. From huge fallen trees in the woods lovingly and painstakingly crafted into statement pieces for the home or garden to those tiny bits of vintage fabric recycled into the most wonderful scenes on a lampshade. Ready to become the talking point of any space.
